Recently, We’ve been surfing the web and found some vids I’d like to share with you. I urge you to share our website with friends. Also sign up for the First Weekenders Group and help us do more articles and action items by clicking here to donate. Thanks. Every $5, $10, $25, $50, or heck even $100 will help us spread the word and raise box office sales for female directed movies.
- Sexism Sells: This montage vid shows the incredible/obvious sexism in the news.
This is a can’t miss clip!! (This was a link i found from the article by Judith Warner: Women in Charge, Women Who Charge that contains her thoughts on Sex In The City. I highly regard this article and feel she has so many strong points. There’s another part of our universe where we must celebrate the fact that strong women leads are topping the box office. It’s like living with a split mind. Please see below for more on the articles from the NYTimes and LATimes. Also, there’s so much debate on the web about the film (SATC) that I merely want to state that it actually is good for women and film for SATC to top box office since opening…particularly when the women are over 40.
- This is a montage called Women in Film: 80 Years of Cinema in 2 minutes. It’s a fun watch.
