Listener Feedback

March 20th, 2008 by Tara Veneruso

We’d love to hear how you are digging the audio podcast.  We’ve started reading reader comments form THIS BLOG on the airwaves.  Would you like to be chosen for your comments to be read on-air?  Also, we’re starting to book and plan May guests for the weekly show and we’d love to hear what or who you’d like to hear more from.  We do have 2 special guests lined up so far and they are amazing!!

April Guests include:
-This is a killer show:  Director Kimberly Pierce (Boys Don’t Cry) on her new film STOP-LOSS.  Please check this film out in theaters!!!   -Martha Lauzen, Ph.D gives up the latest statistics of women working in Hollywood.  Did you know that only 6% of the top 250 top-grossing films of 2007 were directed by women? (Down from last year’s 7%).   -Film Historian Cari Beauchamp (Author of Without Lying Down)  talks about the REAL History of Hollywood.  -Film-Buyer Jacqui Barcos gives the scoop on navigating film festivals, film buyers, the marketplace, and everything you need to know about getting your film out there!

Our goal is to not only provide interesting shows for females - We want ALL filmmakers  to benefit from our guests’ incredible knowledge!  We’re also working towards reaching that large group of non-Hollywood types just living their life out in the middle of the USA.  We’re working to inspire everyone across the country to buy movie tickets the first weekend these movies hit theaters.

Although our website is devoted to women directors, our podcasts have opened up that umbrella to all women working in Hollywood from writers, cinematographers, producers, and even films directed by men with strong female leads.

-Thanks for listening.  MoviesByWomen.com Founder - Tara Veneruso
