A huuuuuge Movies By Women shout out goes to Suzie Templeton. Her film PETER AND THE WOLF won the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film.

Just a quick correction - Peter and the Wolf was written and directed by Suzie Templeton. Hugh Welchman was the producer (not co-director).
