Glamour Magazine’s online short film fest for females

February 24th, 2008 by Heidi Martinuzzi

Glamour magazine is launching an online independent short film festival on Friday to accompany its March Hollywood issue. Showcasing femme filmmakers, the fest will run through March 7 at www.Glamourfilmfest.tv.

The Hollywood issue features a cover profile of Naomi Watts as well as the story “Success Secrets From the Women Who Run Hollywood,” featuring Warner Independent Pictures prexy Polly Cohen, “Boys Don’t Cry” director Kimberly Peirce, stars Kate Beckinsale and Julia Stiles and the femme agents at Endeavor.

Presented by Avon, Glamour’s fest will debut four short films a week, one in each of four categories — U.S. indie, animation, documentary and international. During the fest, actresses Christina Ricci, Maria Bello and Elizabeth Banks will name their fave shorts.

With its short film series Reel Moments, Glamour has also given actresses Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Aniston, Rita Wilson, Kirsten Dunst, Kate Hudson and others the chance to direct their first shorts
