Director Adrienne Shelley’s murderer sentenced

Actress, and director/writer of the movie Waitress (2007), Adrienne Shelley finally saw a smattering of justice on Valentine’s Day when her killer, illegal immigrant Diego Pillco, was sentenced to 25 years in jail for strangling her with a bedsheet after trying to rob her. Waitress was an award-winner at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival and earned praise long after Shelley was no longer around to hear it.
